With all the fast food options out there, it’s nice every once in a while to have a quick, healthy alternative. Tender Greens, an L.A. and San Diego-area restaurant chain, recently opened up a new location at the Irvine Spectrum Center. According to newuniversity.org, the restaurant serves fresh salads, meat dishes, and several vegetarian and vegan options.

Tender Greens’ atmosphere is simple and welcoming, with green chairs and tables providing plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Customers order their food cafeteria style, choosing from salads, soups, meats and entrees. All of the food gets prepared behind glass in front the customer, and the restaurant prides itself on its use of fresh ingredients.

According to the menu, “The majority of our lettuces come fresh picked daily from Scarborough Farms in Oxnard, where Ann Stein and the rest of the family grows things naturally.” Salad choices include Tuna Nicoise, a Chinese Chicken Salad, and The Harvest, which has organic fruit, nuts, artisan cheese and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. There are also strictly vegetarian and vegan options, like the Happy Vegan salad.

The restaurant has meat choices on the menu too, such as steak, chipotle barbecue chicken and herb-brushed albacore. Entrees come with fresh greens and potatoes. Tender Greens also offers unique, homemade drinks like sweet hibiscus tea and mint lemonade that cost $2.50 extra, and there are a wide variety of wines and craft beers.

Irvine home owners have many great dining options, including the Spectrum Center’s newly opened Tender Greens. Anyone considering Irvine real estate can look forward to wonderful food and exciting events happening regularly in the city.
