Warming Communities One Coat at A Time

This post was inspired by Nikki Frank-Hamilton’s post entitled a “Gift for the Giver and the Receiver”.

The Christmas spirit is all about giving. The New York Times has a history of Remembering the Neediest; From 1911-2012, The New York Times Neediest Cases Fund has helped millions of struggling NewYorkers. Since Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast, thousands of people have been left homeless.  Peacelink Live!  will host a concert featuring Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and will be donating its proceeds to the victims of Hurricane Sandy tomorrow night, 12-12-12 at 8:00 p.m. 

Here in Orange County, you may donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank, Toys for Tots, or one of my favorite charities this time of year–One Warm Coat. Below you will find the details of the coat drive  in Costa Mesa:

  Donate whatever you can: your time, your gently worn coat, a new unwrapped toy, canned goods, a monetary donation: just do it! It will be both a gift for the giver and the receiver. May you have a blessed holiday!
